Kyaiktiyo Pagoda

Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, it is a golden rock, situated on the hill of the same name on the ridge between Sittaung and Thanlwin. The pagoda have been built during the life-time of the Buddha over 2400 years ago by two Burmese spirits and is believed to contain a hair of the Buddha (this is the story, we couldn’t check it). It has been reported that a thread can be passed under the base. Some believe that this is evidence that the boulder does not touch the base, but floats above it, in part due to its holy nature. Women are not allowed to touch the boulder, and to be within proximity of the pagoda.

Mushroom Rock State Park contains mushroom rock formations in the Smoky Hills region of Kansas. The rock contains Dakota Sandstone. There are two mushrooms and a giant shoe rock, as well as numerous other rock formations. They were formed by the erosion of a harder rock on top of a softer rock.
