The question that Hiroshi Sugimoto asked himself in 1976, as a 28 year old photographer influenced by Zen Buddhism, sounded a bit like a koan: What happens if you shoot a whole movie in a single frame?”
What if you capture an entire movie in a single shot?
This question made me think of life itself which enfolds like the images on the screen, only brought to life by the light of the projector. The theater of life.
