 Anterior alegerilor prezidentiale din 2000, schema culorilor nu era universal recunoscuta ca reprezentand partidele politice din SUA. Schema culorilor de baza a devenit raspandita odata cu aparitia televiziunii color in anii ’60 si aproape omniprezentelor ziare cu reclamele lor. O schema de trei color – rosu, alb si albastru, culorile drapelului American – facea sens, iar a treia culoare, albul, folositoare pentru ca putea arata statele indecise in sondaje. Inca demult, cea mai comuna – desi din nou, neuniversala – schema culorilor propunea sa foloseasca rosu pentru democrati si albastru pentru republicani. Continuare…
