Se numeste Ron Mueck, este sculptor hiperrealist, s-a nascut in 1958 la Melbourne/Australia, in familia unor fabricanti de papusi, s-a dezvoltat ca artist autodidact, fara sa treaca printr-o institutie de invatamant artistic specializat. A lucrat mult timp ca decorator si creator de recuzita – intai la o emisiune TV pentru copii, apoi in industria cinematografica a efectelor speciale. Traieste la Londra de mai bine de 20 de ani. In toti acesti ani si-a exersat talentul in realizarea figurilor umane intr-un mod foarte realist, ca si cand ar fi vii. Socheaza prin acuratetea cu care lucreaza. Continuare →

Sea Organ musical instrument

This musical instrument is the first pipe organs that are played by the sea. It is located on the shores of Zadar, Croatia. 35 musically tuned tubes and the movement of the sea are the main players of this incredible thing. The Sea Organ has 70m long with the pipes built under the concrete. The musical pipes are located so that the sea water and wind movements produce musical sounds that are heard by passers by so that it achieves a communication with nature and promotes a unity of architecture and environment. As sea forces and energies are unpredictable in terms of tides and winds, this organ offers never-ending concert of numerous musical variations in which the performer is nature itself. Ron Mueck was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1958, but has lived in London for over 20 years now. He honed his extraordinary skills in making life-like figures during several years in film and television. He worked on the Muppets and was responsible for the special effects in David Bowie’s film Labyrinth. His sculptures, made with latex and silicone, amaze with the realism and their size. Continuare →
